Frequently Asked Questions

How much do your services cost?

In a perfect world, we would love to be able to provide a one-size-fits-all price, but it is just not realistic given each event’s unique needs. We do have a designed pricing structure that we work with, but prefer to keep pricing reserved until we have heard more about what you are looking for. To give you an idea, most of our clients invest under $3000 for a wedding and private parties average around $1500. Companies who use “cookie-cutter” pricing structure also provide “cookie-cutter” services—we do not.

Do you charge more for weekend weddings?

No, we prefer to keep things simple and have made the decision to have no difference in pricing whether your wedding is on a Tuesday or a Saturday.

Do you charge for set-up and break-down?

No! Unlike many other DJ companies, your quote is all-inclusive and includes any time that we spend before, during, and after your event.

How long do you play for during a reception or private party?

We have found that the ideal length of time for a reception dance party is between two and three hours. This will be defined in your package and contract. Most venues also have a curfew that we must follow. For private parties, we typically play a similar amount of time. If you would like a shorter or longer dance party, we will happily accommodate. If there is no curfew and if you would like to go longer, we can extend the length and that hourly rate will be noted in your contract.

Where do you get your music?

We belong to professional DJ pools and are long-time music collectors. We also subscribe to Tidal Serato DJ Expansion, which allows us to access a large catalog via wi-fi. We buy music regularly to meet the requests of our clients and to keep up with trending tunes.

Do you play music during dinner?

Yes. As long as your dinner and your reception are in the same physical location at the venue (able to use the same sound system), music during dinner is included in all wedding packages. If we need to use two sound systems for dinner and reception due to separate locations, we can also accommodate. We will build and monitor a playlist for dinner and can include any songs that you request prior to the event. We will also announce the wedding party and work with you to include the music that will accompany it.

What will you wear to my wedding?

As a standard, we will come dressed in a dark suit and tie. Like most people though, we prefer to be neither over or underdressed, so please let us know what the attire of your wedding is and we will dress to match!

How far will you travel?

Your quote includes travel up to 50 miles from our location in Lyons, CO. Anything beyond that will be an additional charge and will be reflected in your quote on a case-by-case basis. This covers anything within Boulder, Longmont, Loveland, Fort Collins, Greeley, Estes Park, Denver and most of its suburbs. We will determine travel distance based on our studio location and the address of the venue provided on your contact form.

Are you able to take requests on-the-fly?

Yes. As long as we have a reliable wi-fi signal at the venue we can take requests from you and your guests. Taking requests may interrupt the flow of your reception and we ask that you carefully consider this prior to your event, as most of our clients ask that we do not take requests (drunk Uncle Eddie may think that his song request is a great idea, but you—and we—may not!). We utilize a QR code from the nosongrequests.com app to accept requests if you so choose. This helps to allow the DJ to focus on keeping the dance-floor moving. There is no extra charge for taking requests.

Will you play all of the songs that we have provided to you?

We will absolutely play all of the songs that you have provided that are for special dances and must-plays, and will build your set based on the questionnaire and your shared playlist of 10-15 songs. Since we are experienced DJs, we prefer to have creative license. We know what works, how to read a crowd, and what to play to keep people dancing. If you want to provide a complete playlist and have us design a special set that is entirely of songs provided by you, we consider that to be a fully-customized set and there will be an additional charge to accommodate.

Do you have sample mixes of the music you play?

Since we place so much focus on the personalization and curation side of the music we play for you, we have chosen not to provide sample mixes of previous events, as your wedding or event will be completely unique!

How far in advance should I book my event?

We recommend booking your event as far ahead as possible. Due to planning, weddings must be booked at least two months ahead (although most couples book much earlier than that). Private parties and other events can be booked on a shorter timeline.

Should we tip the DJ?

Tipping is completely optional and we never include gratuity in your quote. If you feel that we have exceeded your expectations, a tip is a great way to say “thank you” and is greatly appreciated, but never expected.

How can we make payment? Can we arrange payment plans?

We accept payment by credit card, ACH, check or cash. Credit card payments have a 3% additional charge. We will provide you with the information for these options with your contract. Please inform us of how you intend to pay prior to making payment. On a case-by-case basis, we may be able to arrange payments in a different structure than the 50% down/50% 30 days prior under which we typically operate but all balances must be paid in full before we arrive to the event.

What happens if we cancel or postpone our event?

We hope that this does not happen, but in the event that you have to cancel or postpone your event, all funds that have been received can be applied to a future, similar event within 365 days with a 15% rescheduling fee.

Do you carry liability insurance?

Yes, and proof can be provided upon request. Just let us know to whom we need to send it!
